Ground Squirrel in the house!
Just a little bit ago I was working on a LO and could here a squeaking sound but didn't pay much attention to it. Then I realized the cat had something cornered behind a basket and thinking it was a mouse or baby bird I went over to look and believe it or not that was a ground squirrel! Not something you want in the house! In the computer room is our sliding door to the deck; our cat has learned to open the screen door but she has no interest in learning how to close it. Anyway, it was open and I'm not sure if the ground squirrel came in on it's own or was chased. So the first thing I did was grab the dust mop (which may our cat take off outside) and then I used the dining room chairs to block the doorway to the rest of the house. I then moved the basket, gave the little critter a push with the mop and luckily it went right out the door! Good thing I closed the door right away because Fred (our cat) was waiting right outside and was after the ground squirrel again! It all happened so fast that I didn't get any photos but here is a LO from another time that Fred chased one in case you haven't seen one before.
Cute QP's
Here are a couple cute LO's I made this morning using some free QP's from Boy Toy that Mindy Armour has available on her blog. Check out her great blog!

Washed out bridge
Today was a rain day......no work so I was able to get some scrapping done. We got over 4 inches of rain last night and unfortunately water in the basement so I spent today carrying boxes and boxes of my quilting and craft stuff out to my almost finished studio in between storms. Then I would rest a little at the computer and finished a few LO's.
We took the Big Country down in the woods to check on the creek and couldn't get very far because our bridge washed out. We have another crossing that washed out in the last storm and hadn't been fixed yet so it will be interesting to see what kind of shape it is in now. Tonight it is raining again and supposed to last all night!

Bigger??
I found this great kit called Kevin Jr. at FishinmomDesigns which worked perfectly for this photo I changed. I also used a action by Al Ward for the frame. My brother emailed me a photo of a fish he caught and then threw back so it could get bigger. Well I used photoshop to transform the fish and emailed it back asking Bigger????? He said he did a double-take when he saw it! I love doing things like that!Winner

Last photo of the canoe trip
Here is my last LO of the canoe trip. Another QP that I also used for the Title Take challenge at SBE. Yep, that's me and my sweetie! Summerlicious kit by Kim Higueria at SBE.

Canoe Trip
I use this cute kit to make a album about our canoe trip last summer. It is Summerlicious by Kim Higueria at Scrapbook-elements and you can get it with or without the quick pages. The first LO was done using a template by Alice Koh at SBE for the template challenge. There is one more LO but I guess I can only add 5 to a post. If anyone knows if you can add more please let me know.
We went canoeing the first weekend in August last year and will go again this August. It was the first time for us but most of my family have been going for quite a few years. The water is very shallow with a sandy bottom.
In the morning they take you on a bus up river where the canoes are waiting and then you have all day to paddle, play and swim. It was only 4 miles and you end up right back at the campgrounds.
Below are some cute pics of my nieces and their friends. They had a really great time and this year will bring even more friends.
We rented one of these cute pop-ups for our home away from home.

The Guardian
The first time I saw this photo of my grandaughter I was scared to death! Then my daughter explained that Kierxan had fallen asleep on her after nursing and then the cat crawled up to get on her lap too. Don't worry, they are very careful with her.Luckily she had her camera handy and got this shot. When I saw Brenda's sketch I knew it was the perfect one to use.
I did this for Brenda Kempf's sketch challenge #2 and used Summer Celebration by Sarah VanDyke which was in the Tid-Bytes June issue. The title was done using a style from Al Ward at ActionFX.com.
Time to scrap
I am trying to play catch up with the Page A Day challenge at SBB. It used to run each week but now has changed so you have all month to post 30/31 LOs. You should check it out! Last month was the first time all year that I didn't get a LO done for each day of the month. I started digital scrapbooking last fall when I had plenty of free time. Summer is a whole different story! I did 2 LO's today for the subscriber sketch challenge at SBB and hope to get 1 more done.
I used Linen Closet Part 4 by Arti-Bytes and Brenda Kempf's sketch. I received the kit free from the April Page A Day Challenge.
I used Linen Closet Part 4 by Arti-Bytes and Brenda Kempf's sketch. I received the kit free from the April Page A Day Challenge. We are having unusually hot weather here so I stayed inside today and finally got some LO's done. The temps have been in the 90's which is typical August weather. I even quit working early yesterday and we finally turned on the air. The first LO I did today was for the scraplift challenge at Scrapbook-elements. I used a kit called Verde by Alma Townsend. I experimented with using a large stroke on my journaling to make it look like a shaped note paper. I also recolored the blanket as it was really red.

Tips for new bloggers
I found this great site that has tons of information on setting up your blog. It is called Tips for New Bloggers and I thought I would put a link here mainly to remind me to work on my blog. You should check it out!
At the beach

This is a LO I did for a challenge at Digital Freebies. I used Artistic Doodle Do by Bannerwoman and template #59 by Renae Nicholson. Renae offers some of the most beautiful templates I have ever seen and they are free on her website Addicted to Digital.
Summertime
I guess I'm not doing very well at blogging......since it has been over a month since I have updated it. Last fall is when I really got into digital scrapbooking and since I don't work in the winter I really got a lot of layouts done and started creating some things of my own. Right now I have a huge folder of goodies on my computer that I need to get organized. From April until October I spend most of my time working outside unless it rains. I'm starting to think of rain days as......computer days!

Update on Satellite problems
I lost my connection shortly after my previous post about. After many hours on the phone and 4 computers later they finally found out the problem.
I am only allowed to download 350 mg before I have to shut down the modem for 10 to 12 hours. Then it resets itself and is fine. I didn't know this was part of Hughes.net professional service and the really frustrating part about it was that it wasn't until I could finally get to the Network Operations Center to find it out. Wouldn't you think they could have found it sooner?
