This is the 8th block which was interesting to make.
When I made this block I did a double row of stitching on the HST's and got these itty bitty blocks. See how small they are! Each half square triangle (HST) was 1.5 inches square.
Going from past experience I decided to iron and sew these little blocks together before they got lost. I think they will be cute in a mug rug!
This is my block for the Blogger's Block of the Month BOM.
There are only 4 blocks so far, 1 a month on the 25th so you might want to join this!
This is the bundle of fabrics I got last winter from Connecting Threads called Oasis. I'm using it for both BOMs. I think Block of the Month Quilt Alongs are fun! Are you doing any?Do you like this post? Please link back to this article by copying one of the codes below.

They look great Connie - very striking on the black background
Your blocks are beautiful! I love the bright bold colors you are using. The palette is stunning :)
I love the colours you are using and the blocks have turned out so pretty.
Connie, your blocks are gorgeous! The black background makes them pop! I am doing both of these BOM and love them! I'm also in the Wonky House Block Exchange which is a huge stretch for me, but is actually a lot of fun and getting me to enjoy being out of my comfort zone. Thanks for sharing your blocks...they are stunning!
They all look great Connie. I really like the color combo's your using. Isn't it neat how the black background just makes the colors pop!
I love your choice of color. It so bright and spring like!
I love the colors you're using...really nice combinations. Blessings, Marlene
I love your blocks and the fabrics are just perfect, look forward to seeing this coming together.
Your blocks are wonderful.
Connie, I love the colors you've been using in both this QALs! :)
Wonderful blocks , such bright cheery colors !
Love all your blocks. I hope if I keep practicing I will be able to piece like that some day. You do a great job!
Love your blocks Connie and the fact that you made little ones for a mug rug - such a great idea with the scraps!
The blocks are looking awesome!! I love how bright and colorful they are!!!
wonderful blocks! Those mini pinwheels are AMAZING!
Hi, Connie. Each of those blocks is so pretty and also examples of some of the great patterns in quilt blocks. How did you get to the pinwheel block from the itty HST's?
Did you know they were going to make a pinwheel when you were making the large block? It has me totally gaga tonight. And the colors from Connecting Threads, when I get the catalog I can never picture a quilt from some of their fabric packages. The one you have for example, I never would have chosen that because I'm always trying to find the vintage looking soft colors and Civil War quilt fabrics. But seeing them in a quilt block now I love the bright colors. I'll have to have some chats with you when I get to quilting (if I ever make one) this year! Giggle...
Beautiful work Connie.
Hugs,
Susan
Great blocks, Connie! I'm especially fond of the tiny ones you created from the cut-a-way-corners. I like to do that too. They are so cute!
OMGoodness, but you have been a very busy girl!
Hugs,
Cyn; -)
ps: Yippee... I got to meet Bonnie last Tuesday night and hear her lecture on Stash Management -- it was excellent!
Great collection of fabrics to use for your quilt alongs. There is plenty of variety, yet they all look great together.
Great color combos for your blocks Connie. And I just love the itty bitty blocks (will have to keep your method in mind next time I make HST's!). TFS

Hi Connie. I like your block #8 in the fat quarter quilt along. Very nice.
This all square designs look so different and some extra ordinary work.
